This Christmas break gets better every year, with more people choosing to enjoy Christmas the Friendship way - so please book early. Good food, fine wine and festive frolics are the order of the day - but nothing is forced, and our luxurious 4 * hotel has plenty of space and facilities to ensure that you can step back and chill out when you wish. 2012 is the eight year Friendship Travel has used this hotel and normally we have at least 85% of the rooms at the hotel - making this a great Singles Christmas House-Party.

The hotel is 1 hour from Heathrow airport, Junction 13 on the M4 motorway or 5 minutes from Newbury train station.

Stayed at this hotel before? The main function room (Cromwell Suite) was fully refurbished in January 2011, completing the £14 million refurbishment.

This break begins on Christmas Eve - Monday 24 December 2012.

Guests can arrive at the hotel from 2 pm onwards so if you would like to play golf or enjoy a spa treatment pre book these in advance. Sandwiches, Tea and coffee will be served from 3.00 to 4.30 pm - included in the price of course! Afterwards relax in the hotel bar and meet other guests or take a stroll in the surrounding area. Before our evening meal you can enjoy an included welcome drink (bucks fizz or mulled wine). Dinner will have a seasonal warmth to it (Served starter and dessert with an extensive buffet - hot and cold main course selection) with a half bottle of wine included. Entertainment this evening is a visiting 20 piece choir, followed by a disco afterwards.

There will be an optional visit to the local Church for midnight service.

On Christmas Day enjoy a leisurely breakfast and then take a stroll to Donnington Castle on an escorted walk with your hosts or simply relax in the hotel. Then Lunch is served! A traditional Christmas Lunch with all the trimmings' is accompanied by a 1/2 bottle per person of appropriate wines and followed by a Quiz in the hotel bar.

A light buffet evening meal is provided with tea or coffee.

On Boxing Day (Tuesday)

After a leisurely breakfast visit one of the sights nearby. A walk in the local countryside, Ten Pin Bowling (payable locally) or a great book by the fire! A light buffet lunch will be served. In the evening we have our formal Black Tie dinner dance with luxury 4 course meal, 1/2 bottle of wine, followed by a disco until 1am.

During the break there will be opportunities to play golf, use the gym and spa, visit the shops in Newbury, try your hand at the local ten pin bowling alley or simply take a stroll to the local village pub (all payable locally).

Donnington Valley will be proud to offer their guests unique facilities at their Health Club and Spa. Boasting an 18m lap pool, a large Jacuzzi, a sauna, steam and aromatherapy room, a state-of-the-art gymnasium, a dance studio and six treatment suites, the Health Club Spa will help to make Donnington Valley 'The New Destination' in the Thames Valley. The facilities will all be open over the festive period. Guests are recommended to book Spa treatments in advance.

On Thursday 27th December 2012

Guests staying for 3 nights depart after Breakfast on Thursday 27 December 2012. If you wish to stay 4 nights it is available departing on Friday 28th December 2012. The extra night will be on bed and breakfast basis and your hosts will suggest options for dinner.

After a leisurely breakfast take a trip with your hosts by train to Reading where you will find a wealth of shops, restaurants and activities to pass the afternoon. In the evening join you're everyone in the bar before dinner (not included). After breakfast on Friday 28th December 2012 you can depart at your leisure.

2012 - Prices are based on accommodation in a standard room on full board with wines included at dinner (24 and 26 December) and with your Christmas day lunch.  All entertainment as stated above is included unless stated otherwise. .

The executive rooms (larger more luxury rooms with robes and slippers included, plus more) have a supplement of £36 for 3 nights, £48 for 4 nights. The suites (best rooms at the hotel) have a supplement of £80 for 3 nights and £100 for 4 nights.

The hotel golf course is 5 minute's walk from the hotel and residents received discounted green fees for the course. On Christmas Day you can play the course for free.
