New flights for 2016 will be taking off from the UK from major airports such as Heathrow and Manchester to destinations such as Greece and North and South America.

Those who are planning to book their singles holidays abroad for this coming year will welcome the news, with full-service and low-cost carriers leading the way.

British Airways will be leading the way with 13 new flights, including a long-haul service to New York’s John F Kennedy airport from Gatwick.

The coastal resort of Antalya, Turkey, will be easily accessible from Edinburgh when new schedules are launched this summer, along with city break destinations such as Verona, Italy, with more flights from Stanstead planned.

The news comes after a recent study revealed the cheapest holiday destinations for 2016, with more and more people booking their summer holidays already.

The scheduled flights will enable travellers to gain access to flights closer to home easing any pre-holiday stress.
