You need a mountain guide or an instructor to tackle the descents from Arp, although the beautiful run down to Dolonne is not difficult. From the shoulder of Mont Blanc, intermediate skiers can ski the once in a life time Vallee Blanche glacier run to Chamonix (with a mountain guide) while experts tackle the more testing off-piste on the Italian side of the massif.
• The resort has a good selection of shops, bars and cafes for apres ski activities each day. There is also a swimming pool, skating, bowling, tennis, squash and lots to see at the old Roman town of Aosta.

• Situated in the centre of Courmayeur, the Cristallo is a very comfortable Club Hotel run by an International team of staff. It's in a perfect location, set in a quiet side street just off the main pedestrian throughfare, with immediate access to all the shops, restaurants, bars and colourful Italian life.
