What’s included Sharm El SheikhWhat is there to do in Sharm El Sheikh? Everything you can imagine… or nothing at all if you prefer! Today Sharm exists almost solely to cater for holidaymakers who come to make the most of almost 60 kms of sandy beaches beside the warm sea. Dive sites near Sharm include Ras Nasrani at the southern end of the Straits of Tiran, where the coral reef ‘flowers’ in crystal clear water and the fishy sightings could include barracudas and even turtles. The ‘Coral Garden’ off Tiran Island offers the chance to see angel fish, butterfly fish and banner fish while in Shark Bay the diverse wildlife includes parrotfish, grouper, wrasse and rays. Closer to home – in fact on the left side of the hotel’s own private beach – is another coral area just right for divers and snorkelers. Excursions out into the desert are on offer, with a range of Bedouin camp experiences from camel rides to campfire feasts and 4x4 trips – or take a trip to St Catherine’s Monastery in the Sinai Desert. And then there’s the sun and the sand and the option just to soak it up and turn a lovely golden brown – remember to pack a high SPF lotion!
