Jewel Dunn’s River Beach Resort & Spa (formerly Sandals Dunn’s River) re-opened for winter 2010 after a $7million refurbishment. It now offers a luxurious All-inclusive product that will make it almost impossible to leave the resort, which has everything from water sports and outdoor hot tubs to golf and tennis. DUNN’S RIVER JAMAICA

As its name suggests, it’s close to Jamaica’s top attraction, the spectacular ‘terrace’ of Dunn’s River Falls. This adult-only, completely All-inclusive resort will really impress you. The resort is set on Mammee Bay, with its own pristine, private beach.

The Falls pool has a choice of rafts and lounge chairs, the swim-up Sunken Treasure Bar and a pool concierge service (spritz of cool water Madam?). You can even watch a ‘dive-in movie’ one evening, while floating in the pool. Jasper’s Chillin Pool is a little quieter, with a bridge to the island bar in the centre, and evening jazz sessions.

There is a host of dining options, from the fire-oven pizza to the 23-hour beach grill with its menu of cocktails, burgers and freshly made snacks. The Coral Café spreads great buffet breakfasts and lunches, and offers authentic West Indian menus at night. For a little extra, you can even opt for white-gloved Platinum Setting fine dining!

Rooms boast colonial-style mahogany four-posters, tiled floors, air-conditioning, flat-screen TV, tea and coffee-making facilities and a mini-bar stocked with water, juice and soft drinks every day. The luxurious bathroom is stocked with all the smellies you could want! You can upgrade to an Ocean View room for £24 per night extra.
