Ski Safari - Tarentaise, France

New for this season, our Ski Safari week gives you the opportunity to ski, and improve your skiing, in some of the top ski resorts of the world …..all in one week.

The week includes 3 full days of professional guiding and instruction led by Bryan Hogg, a top locally based Scottish Instructor.
During the week we’ll ski at:
Val d’Isère,
Tignes,
Les Arcs
La Rosière and La Thuile
Ste Foy

The minimum requirement is that you should be able to ski French red pistes competently (i.e. be able to make linked parallel turns down any red run in any snow/weather conditions). Unfortunately we cannot accommodate snowboarders on this trip as the teaching and route selection are too different.

Auberge sur la Montagne

The base for the week is the Auberge sur la Montagne. This is a spacious, well equipped, 8-bedroom chalet-hotel run by British couple Sue and Andy Mac and their team of friendly, helpful English-speaking staff. The Auberge has an open air massage hot tub, a sauna, in house ski and boot rentals and ski work shop, WIFI and free internet access, well-stocked bar (with service to the hot tub!) and acclaimed cuisine. Meals provided are a generous buffet breakfast, afternoon tea and cakes and a 3 course candle lit dinner with quality house wines and coffee on 6 nights. On one night the staff has a well-deserved night off when you will be taken out to one of the many local restaurants. There will also be a night out to sample some of the nightlife at oneof the local resorts during the week.

Skiing and Instruction

During the week we will go to different resorts each day.

The week’s aims are to provide:-

  1. First class ski instruction by fluent English speaking instructors.
  2. The opportunity to ski 5 (or 6) of the best ski resorts of the world in a week.
  3. Great hospitality and first class dining in the Auberge
  4. A socially interactive week.

There will be 3 days of instruction and guiding and 3 days of free skiing without guides.

Example Itinerary – A typical day.

Instructor

Our lead instructor each week will be BRYAN HOGG. He runs several courses around the area during the winter and is based from the Auberge. In exceptional circumstances, we may use another equally experienced local instructor.
