Get your glad rags on for our ‘Black Tie with a touch of Red’ Ball on Valentine’s weekend. We have chosen the smart setting of the four-star Holiday Inn Solihull, south-east of Birmingham. There’s no excuse for not coming, because it’s in the heart of England with great access by road, rail and air.

There’s a great disco after dinner, or you might prefer to chat to new friends in the bar until late. Whatever time you get to bed, don’t miss the full English breakfast the next morning.

Our three-night package takes full advantage of the Bank Holidays with a Friday afternoon arrival (time to try out the hotel’s pool) before dinner (included, with wine).

On Saturday we include an excursion to historic St Albans. The Romans called it Verulamium and today you can see the excavated theatre, city walls and hypercaust system. There is time to ‘amble round the Shambles’ and browse up to 170 stalls at the regular market, or just enjoy the ancient buildings.

Step out on our walking weekend in the New Forest - but don't worry, you don't need to be a hairy-kneed hiker to enjoy it. There are very few landscapes in this country that look the same today as they did a thousand years ago, but the New Forest is one of them, with ancient oak and beech woods hiding wild deer and shaggy New Forest ponies. The small town of Lyndhurst is 10 miles west of Southampton. It has a nice mix of pubs and shops and is the 'capital' of the Forest.

A local guide will tell us more about the area on Friday evening and will lead us on an 8 mile (approx) walk on Saturday, with a leisurely lunch break at a local pub (own expense). We'll enjoy another (short) walk on Sunday morning. You do not need to be super fit, but do wear sensible walking shoes.

We include dinner (with wine) on Friday and Saturday nights, as well as breakfast each morning. If you are unable to join us on the Friday evening due to work commitments, please ask about a 1 night / 2 day package.

While most of our holidays are happily informal, sometimes it's good to dress up and pull out all the stops. Our 'Black Tie and Posh Frocks' ball is a great event held at the high quality Donnington Valley Hotel, Spa and Golf Course. This hotel is located in Donnington which is near Newbury in leafy Berkshire. Although it's easily reached from the M4.

The one night package includes your 4-course dinner with wine, disco, accommodation in a luxury double room for sole use and breakfast the following morning. If you wish to book a spa treatment we recommend you pre-book in advance.

This event is at the end of our Summer Season and many people who have met during one of our holidays are due to attend. Normally the event attracts between 40 - 60 people with a balance of 60% ladies to 40% men.

Please do ask for prices to upgrade to an executive room at this hotel which is larger and more luxurious.

The Yorkshire Dales National Park has outstanding scenery, a range of wildlife habitats and a rich cultural heritage. It's a special place - a fantastic outdoor arena for recreation and peaceful relaxation and a haven for wildlife.

Today Belfast has lost none of its traditional charm and humour but has added exciting new entertainment and shopping developments to make this a fantastic city break choice. In the course of the weekend you can enjoy an open top bus tour, guided walk or a trip to the famous Giants Causeway 9all payable locally).

Staying at the 3* Park Inn Hotel on a bed and breakfast basis and shuttle transfers. Your local host will accompany everyone to dinner at one of the many restaurants in the city. The hotel is located 5 minutes walk from the Europa Bus station and the City Hall of Belfast where there is a large number of shops and bars.

Flights are available from most UK airports directly to Belfast. There are two airports available - Belfast City or Belfast International.
