If any more proof was needed in cementing Croatia’s status as a leading holiday destination, Brad Pitt is rumoured to oblige after he and partners were tipped to build a luxury resort in Istria.
According to a leading Croatian newspaper, the resort’s working title will be ‘Barabriga’, located in the Birijuni islands and will include hotels, villas, a golf course and a marina. He is allegedly teaming up with local businessman Danko Koncar and actor Rade Serbedzija, who starred in the film In the Land of Blood and Honey, directed by his partner Angelina Jolie.
Croatia has only recently been recognised as one of the finest holiday destinations in the world, with more and more people, including celebrities like Roman Abramovich, Bill Gates and Bernie Ecclestone, choosing to return for the stunning white sand beaches and balmy Mediterranean climate.
