Britons expected to head abroad this summer to avoid Olympics Britons, particularly Londoners, are looking to avoid the London 2012 Olympic Games by planning trips abroad, with home owners looking to take advantage of potential incoming tourists and rent out their property, according to a recent survey by HomeAway.co.uk.

Only 7 % of Brits are planning to attend the Olympics in London this summer, whilst 12 % even intend to go abroad to avoid the clutter and clamour surrounding the Games.

Regional Director for HomeAway UK Andy Cockburn said: ‘It looks like many Londoners will be trying to escape the crowds this summer by jetting off on holiday during the event. However, demand for London accommodation is still strong as international tourists from around the globe flock to our shores.’

Should you be hoping to get away from the capital this summer and fancy a relaxing sojourn abroad, do make sure you take advantage of some fantastic singles holidays available.
