Caribbean named as favourite destination by British Airways passengers The Caribbean has been named as top holiday destination this year by British Airways customers, finishing above traditional Brit favourites Florida and Spain.

Perhaps explaining a 3.3% increase in visitor arrivals between 2010 and 2011, according to the Caribbean Tourism Organisation, but experts believe the upward trend will continue thanks to increasing numbers of direct flights to the islands.

British Airways Holidays Managing Director Claire Bentley also believes the miserable British weather is driving numbers abroad to exotic climates abroad, with the golden beaches and vibrant traditions of the Caribbean proving to be particularly popular.

Boasting the likes of Grenada, St Lucia and Jamaica, the Caribbean has long been considered one of the premier holiday destinations in the world. Are you planning some unforgettable singles holidays this summer? If so, then come and check out the Caribbean. Full of rich culture and fun traditions, it is the perfect base for some sun soaked fun.
