Historic Sites on Mallorca Get Listed ProtectionThe Consell de Mallorca recently announced a number of the island’s most important historic and cultural buildings have received, or are in line for, ‘BIC’ (Bien de Interés Cultural) protective status.

The special status will ensure the survival of some of the island’s most important sites, preserving them for the enjoyment of both locals and visitors to the island. The latest list includes the stunning property Can Lis, a house designed and built in the 1970s by the world famous Danish architect Jorn Utzon.

Another of the BIC listed sites, Castle Santueri, recently applied for permissions to start tours around the site. Initial plans would see the installations of information boards around the castle grounds and a number of small guided tours to the more delicate parts of the structure.

If you’re thinking of enjoying solo holidays on Mallorca this year, why not head on out to see some of the excellent historic and cultural locations available on this beautiful island?
