Jamaica visitor levels show slight rise against 2011 levelsRecent reports have shown that the tourism scene in Jamaica is continuing to grow, with arrivals on the Caribbean island marking an increase when compared to the same period last year.

In reports issued by the Jamaica Tourist Board, it found that over one million people arrived in Jamaica during the first six months of 2012, resulting in a rise of just over 25,000 individuals when compared to the period just one year ago. While the figure is still only 2.5%, it still shows that interest in the island is still very much present, proving that more and more people are considering Jamaica for their dream destination.

Believed to generate around $2 billion every year, its fair to say tourism is a huge revenue generator for Jamaica, with the increase in visitor levels ensuring that it can continue to offer holidays for years to come.
