Cycling in the New Forest

A new development in the New Forest will make it an even better holiday destination in the near future; you can now hire bikes with sat nav.

Cycling is up there with walking and horse-drawn carriage rides as the best activity to try in the New Forest, and it’s a great way to make the most of the national park’s tried and tested routes through the countryside. Those new to the area have had difficulty with the cycle paths in the past, with some accidentally straying from the official cycle routes.

To combat this, the National Park Authority (NPA) has teamed up with Garmin to provide bikes for hire with a GPS navigation device. These are pre-loaded with cycle routes that are easy to follow, and are free of charge when hiring a bike from outlets including the New Forest Activities Booking Centre and Cyclexperience.

For those who are thinking of going on their first solo holiday, a UK destination like the New Forest presents a great opportunity to try out the singles travel experience. We’re sure you’ll love it, and there are even more destinations to discover with us if you find that solo travel with a group of fun-loving, like-minded people is your kind of thing!
