Primavera Sound in Barcelona

As the temperatures of summer increase, all of Europe gets amped up for another amazing festival season. In every country there are great opportunities to see a host of bands. And if you’re seeking a great holiday destination at the same time, check out Barcelona and Primavera Sound.

Billed as the largest indie and alternative music festival in the world, the vibrant city of Barcelona serves as a backdrop for the event. Primavera Sound offers so much – from alternative rock bands to the best in sub-mainstream electronic performers. From 2-4 June, the city will be set musically ablaze by Radiohead, LCD Soundsystem, and the great PJ Harvey.

Other acts include Tame Impala, Sigur Rós, Last Shadow Puppets, Animal Collective, Brian Wilson, and John Carpenter.

The festival was started in 2001 and has grown to become one of the world’s great urban music festivals. Primavera is famous for bringing the festival feel to the entire city. For the event, there will be pop-up stages and shows throughout Barcelona before the main music events truly kick off. Many events are free to enter.

“We always complain about the lack of free concerts in spaces and at times that are easily accessible for normal people… and that is precisely what makes Primavera in the Park so attractive,” TimeOut magazine said of the festival.

The publication has named the event as one of the best in the world.

For those looking for an amazing singles’ holiday, Barcelona is both amazing and affordable. With Mediterranean views, great food and so much history, it is a destination that you will remember. Add in the music and vibes of Primavera Sound and it is bound to be a holiday to remember.
