Singles holidays news from Turkey

Here in Turkey the locals are celebrating Seker Bayram (which means sugar or sweet festival). This is celebrated by Muslims worldwide as it marks the end of Ramadan – which is the Islamic holy month of fasting. They celebrate by visiting family and friends, sharing chocolates and sweets, and traditional sweet dishes. Also the giving of gifts, and families getting together for the holidays.

Oludeniz is a hotspot for locals, they all flock to the coast during this time to spend their days on the beach, at the Blue Lagoon, enjoying lazy day boat cruises and wandering through the streets in the evening taking in the local activity.

Guests enjoying dinner at the Era Hotel

This doesn’t stop our guests from enjoying themselves though, the resort becomes busier, the night time livelier and the atmosphere more energizing!

So first night out of the week for our guests after dinner is the Nightshift in Hisaronu.

Guests from both hotels meet up and try out some of the local nightlife. We are not exactly Club 18-30’s and nor are we trying to be, but we do like to have a fun night out, time to mix and mingle with the different guests, and for them to relax and get to know their fellow travellers. A few cocktails normally does the trick! Some guests like to let their hair down and take to the dance floor while others prefer to observe and sit and chat.

But all in all, it’s a good start to the week, and then it’s nonstop fun in the sun!

A typical Greek street

Talking of fun in the sun – I managed to sneak a week’s holiday in this month! Now those of you that know me know I have a passion for Turkey having been here for quite a few years, but I have to say I think I’ve fallen in love with Mykonos! I really like the Greek Islands anyway, but can you get any more picture perfect than the beautiful Greek village life with the windy little streets, hidden tavernas and gorgeous food!! If it’s good enough for Shirley Valentine, then it’s good enough for me!
