Spain is top of the list when it comes to the best countries to visit around the world, followed by France and Germany respectively.
The World Economic Forum’s Travel and Tourism report looks at a vast array of factors in deciding just which country is the friendliest to tourists.
Looking at everything from price competitiveness, to security and hygiene, the study has found that out of the list which contains 136 countries, Spain rules the roost, with the UK not trailing too far behind in a respectable 5th place.
The report, which is released once every two years, has to consider myriad factors in ranking the countries. The World Economic Forum looks at the nation’s business environment, its safety and security, price competitiveness, the tourist services, transport and infrastructure, health and hygiene, international openness, and natural resources.
This is in fact the second year which Spain has topped the rankings, and they are followed by France, Germany, Japan, and the UK respectively. The United States has dropped two spots to sixth place from when the study was last conducted in 2015, with Australia, Italy, Canada, and Switzerland also making the top ten.
By these standings, Europe is once more the most attractive region to tourists, boasting six of the top 10 most competitive countries.
Spain has long been a hotspot for tourists from all over the world, and a favourite of singles on holiday, so it’s no surprise to see the country retain her title as tourism queen.
