This year’s instalment of the World Travel Awards was held at the end of last month, with the Algarve taking home a sack-full of accolades for its outstanding holiday opportunities.
The famed stretch of southern Portugal took home an unprecedented 12 awards at the event, which is considered by many to be the ‘Oscars of the travel industry’. With prizes including the title of Best Beach Destination and Leading Golf Destination, it is proof that the Algarve is still up there with the finest holiday destinations in the world today.
Held at a brand new hotel in the Algarve, it gave the opportunity for attendees to experience first hand why the region was showered in praise and plaudits during the ceremony.
