Tourism officials in Yorkshire are hoping that the upcoming Olympic Games can result in an increase in visitor levels.
With millions of people expected to flock to London in time for the greatest show on earth, tourism group Welcome to Yorkshire has released a new advertising campaign in a move to boost visitor levels.
The campaign, which will be running until May, is to present Yorkshire as the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the capital in a series of television programs and magazines.
Vicky Harris, the marketing manager at Welcome to Yorkshire, stated the plans will show exactly what Yorkshire has to offer and is designed to appeal to the London and South east regions in particular.
