Latest update, as of 9th June 2021 -

Friendship Travel are not taking any new bookings for holidays departing before 15 August 2021. We had hoped that some holidays would be able to run before this date but, due to the Governement chopping and changing of the traffic light system, it is not going to be possible.

From Monday 16 August onwards, subject to advice from the Government and the UK Foreign office advice portal, we plan to run holidays to Green and Amber list countries. We would hope and expect this will be our firm favourites in Turkey, Greece and Spain, plus the Caribbean. If you are happy to book a holiday and travel under the GREEN and AMBER test requirements, please give us a call to book.

Between the 14 June and 9 August our offices will be open on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday only from 10.00-16.00 for calls and emails.

HOLIDAY FLEXIBILITY DUE TO COVID-19

Friendship Travel was recognised in 2020 by Which? Travel magazine - click here for details - as one of the 24 Tour Operators you can trust to book a holiday with. Friendship Travel 'did the right thing' throughout 2020 and refunded clients and offered flexibility, to ensure we looked after our guests. For the holidays which did run in Summer 2020 we received excellent feedback from guests with regards to how they were looked after. See Feefo reviews by clicking here.

MAKING NEW HOLIDAY BOOKINGS

For all new bookings from 7 May 2021 onwards, for travel anytime before 15 December 2021, Friendship Travel and our airline partners will be as flexible as we possibly can. All hotels and airlines are different and policies change. Generally you can make changes at least 14 days before departure without any change fees (if prices are higher, the difference in price needs to be paid), if you need to change due to being COVID positive or a change in a countries status.

Fully comprehensive travel insurance should always be taken out at the time of booking. We recommend InsureFor, click here and get 5% off using discount code FT5.

Our opening hours are as follows: – Monday to Friday from 9am - 5pm. If you would like us to contact us outside normal working hours (for example at 7pm, after work), please email us and we can arrange this.

If you are ready to travel, take a look at the cheap singles holidays we have available.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW -

  • GREEN - You need 1 x pre-departure antigen (rapid flow) test for your journey back from holiday and 1 x PCR test for day 2 after you return home.
  • AMBER - You need 1 x pre-departure antigen (rapid flow) test and 2 x PCR tests for days 2 and 8 after you return home.

WHO NEEDS TO GET A TEST?

  1. It’s your responsibility to ensure you get the correct tests carried out in line with the entry requirements for the country you’re travelling to.
  2. It’s important to note that, when you’re ordering the testing kits, you’ll need to purchase one for all passengers on your booking.

HOW TO GET A TEST

Friendship Travel suggests Randox Health for a home test kit. These tests are ALL now reduced to only £48 each, not £120 as many places charge.

There are also many other providers for tests, including Boots The Chemist. Please use the provider which suits you best.

WHAT DO YOU GET IN A RANDOX COVID-19 TEST KIT?

Every COVID-19 test kit comes with the following items:

  1. Swab
  2. Sample collection tube
  3. Transportation tube
  4. Pathoseal bag
  5. Large postal envelope
  6. Reference number labels

WHAT TO DO WHEN YOUR TEST ARRIVES

When you receive your test, you’ll find instructions on how to correctly complete it inside. There's also more information on how to complete the test, how to send it off and how you’ll receive your results on the Randox testing kit order page.

Before you carry out your test, make sure you check the test timing requirements for the country you’re travelling to. If you carry out your test too early, it may be invalid. For any questions, please give Friendship Travel a call.

To send your completed test back, Randox recommends using DX Express – a trusted medical courier. It’s the quickest way to get your test back to the Randox Laboratory, and there’ll be delivery details included with your testing kit. They have 30 designated drop-off points around the UK – head to their website for more details.

Alternatively, you can pay for recorded - next day - delivery with the Royal Mail or another courier service.

WHEN YOU'LL RECEIVE YOUR TEST RESULTS AND WHAT TO DO NEXT

Results of your test will be provided within 24 hours of the sample arriving at the lab. They'll be sent to you directly. Once you’ve received your negative test result, by email, you will then need to provide this to the country you are visiting. The exact details vary by destination – please check.

Holidays - the Randox Lab is open 24/7 including all holidays.
