The Phoenicians, Romans, Turks and French have all influenced this welcoming country. Perhaps they all fell in love with the chain of golden sandy beaches along the Gulf of Hammamet! The Phoenicians, Romans, Turks and French have all influenced this welcoming country. Perhaps they all fell in love with the chain of golden sandy beaches along the Gulf of Hammamet!

Set in lawned gardens next to the beach, the hotel is quietly located but only 15 minutes’ walk along the beach from the marina. There’s plenty to do at the hotel, with non-motorised watersports and fun activities included in our package.

Most meals are served in the Alhambra restaurant, where Tunisian food is offered alongside international dishes. There’s also Le Rebeb à la carte restaurant, a pool snack bar, La Chica café (try a shiska pipe, or a Turkish coffee) and lobby bar where you

can enjoy a nightcap.

Evening entertainment at the hotel includes live music, but we’ll also explore Port El Kantaoui and Sousse nightlife together (at our own expense).

Port El Kantaoui was created from scratch around the purpose-built yachting marina and 36-hole PGA-approved golf course, so it has a sophisticated, international vibe.

Golf El Kantaoui is virtually next door to our hotel, which can easily organise either one off greens fees, or a good-value 5-day pass if you’re keen on golf (ask the Friendship Travel office for further information about taking your clubs to Tunisia).

The resort’s style is Moorish, with whitewashed walls and blue-painted window shutters, and there are plenty of cafés and restaurants along the harbour.

Sousse itself, no more than 10kms along the coast, is a town with an ancient history that can be traced in the narrow alleyways of the Medina and the fortifications of the Ribat. If the Archaeological Museum is not your style, perhaps you’ll enjoy sipping mint tea while you haggle over a carpet in the Kasbah!
