Friendship Travel established in 1999

We established Friendship Travel in 1999, with just one Villa in Kusadasi, Turkey. Today, Friendship is one of the leading companies for single travellers, with a choice of dinner dances, city breaks, sun, ski and spa holidays across the world.

By ‘we’ I mean Colum McLornan and Julie-Ann Yildiz. We worked together in the 1990s for the respected singles company, Smallworld, which is no longer operating. We felt there was a real need for a company with the same approach and in the last eight years the feedback from our guests has confirmed this view.

Our philosophy is simple. Friendship Travel combines wonderful destinations with comfortable surroundings and great people – by which we mean Friendship Hosts and the good company of our guests. The resulting holidays are relaxing, fun and friendly.

Friendship Travel was the first singles company to provide double rooms for sole occupancy as standard on the majority of our holidays – and from May 2007 All Friendship accommodation will be on this basis. We have also been innovative in introducing an internet Chat Room, gulet cruising for singles, hosted house party ski trips and spa breaks at fantastic places like LeSport in the Caribbean. Many of our great innovations are now copied by our competitors, but we believe we still offer a much superior, personalised service than other specialist singles operator.

Every year, more single people discover Friendship – often as a result of ‘word of mouth’ recommendation. Indeed, we are very proud of the fact that more than 50% of our guests have either travelled with us before, or have come to us because they know someone who has.

2010 will be our 12th year and there are more holidays to choose from than ever before. We look forward to seeing you on one of them.
