If you are a first-time single traveller, we understand that you are probably nervous. We have had thousands of conversations with nervous first-timers over the years, so let us answer some of your questions, which typically include.

Why you don’t need to be nervous - Why you can trust Friendship Travel

  1. Stop worrying about whether you are too old, or too young, for a Friendship Travel holiday. We do not categorise our guests by age: everyone is welcome, and you’re as young as you feel! Many guests are between their early 30s and 60: the range of life experiences adds to the mix.
  2. We are not a dating agency. We arrange holidays for people who would otherwise have to travel alone. It is about having fun, meeting people, making new friends – and discovering new places with the security of having other people around.
  3. We don’t arrange big groups: there are usually 8 - 16 people on holiday, so you’ll never feel lost in a crowd.
  4. Whatever you want to ask about the destination or the hotel, someone in the office will be able to help because at least one of us has been there.
  5. We aim to make our holidays stress free. Start by flying from your local airport instead of travelling to Gatwick (unless Gatwick IS your local airport!). We can quickly tell you an all-in price so you can compare and decide what to do.
  6. When you land overseas, we are there to take you straight to the hotel – a Friendship Travel transfer for our guests.
  7. You’re not on your own. Everyone is a single traveller. The first evening we get everyone together for dinner, when the Host will break the ice and help with the introductions.
  8. The Host is on hand to ensure everything runs smoothly. They are always around if you need them, but never intrusive. They know lots of things about, and things to do in the local area.
  9. You will never be forced to join in group activities. It is your holiday and you can do what you like, so if that means a quiet afternoon by the pool or an evening in, that’s fine.
  10. Take advantage of the website’s Chat Room to find out what other guests say about the holiday you’re thinking of booking. Why not post a message of your own to ask for feedback? Previous Friendship Travel guests always have something to say and are happy to help.
  11. If you still feel apprehensive, try an overseas city break for a couple of nights. Or a UK dinner dance weekend, which is a great opportunity to meet Friendship Travel Hosts and people who are happy to share their holiday experiences with you.
