The fantastic beaches of the Algarve have been given the ultimate praise, being nominated for a coveted award at the World Travel Awards.
Hardly surprising with the beautiful white sandy stretches the Algarve is home to, it will now go up against the likes of Cannes, Corfu, the Emerald Coast, Formentera, Marbella and Oludeniz for the chance to win the title of Europe’s Best Beach Destination. It would be the second accolade from the awards in as many years should they be victorious, having taken home the crown for Best Golfing Destination during the 2012 affair. It’s a title which it is also looking to retain, fighting off stiff competition from England, France, Germany, Scotland and Spain.
The winner will be announced at the official awards ceremony, taking place in the Turkish city of Antalya this coming August. If you are thinking of a new destination to enjoy your singles holidays this summer, the sublime shores of the Algarve promise not to disappoint.
