The World Travel Awards have announced their nominees for 2017, and the stunning destination of Barbados has been named as one the must visit Caribbean cruise spots.

Other nominees include Aruba, Curacao, Dominican Republic, Grand Cayman, Jamaica, The Bahamas, Saint Lucia, Trinidad & Tobago, and the Turks & Caicos Islands.

Barbados is a terrifically attractive spot for solo holidays, and if you fancied knocking off two nominees in one trip for your next summer adventure, Friendship Travel offer two separate cruises departing from Barbados and visiting Saint Lucia along the way.

Voting is now open for the Caribbean’s Leading Cruise Destination 2017 award, with the window closing on July 19th.

Barbados is full of many marvellous sites and top tourist attractions, with Crane Beach – filled with beautiful coral sand — being one of the island’s most famous.

Another must see site while in the area is the UNESCO protected Parliament Buildings. This neo-gothic structure was constructed of coral limestone between 1870 and 1874, and features spectacular stained-glass windows depicting British monarchs.
