Beach and surf

Hello, for those of you that didn’t see Friendship Travel’s updated live video on Facebook on Friday 20th March, here is an update for the last week.

Friendship Travel (FT) has been working hard this week bringing our last customers and staff home and will continue to do so in the coming days. We would like to thank our overseas staff, hosts, our hotels and agents for the great work they have done, and the support they have given in helping us achieve this.

Our holidays are now all cancelled up until the end of April. Guests have already been emailed by FT with details and advice regarding booked solo holidays, and our office team will start working through options for those people who were due to travel up to the end of April.

Our hopes and plans would be to run summer holidays from May onwards. We are always being asked when the winter brochure is out, so our winter 2020-21 range of cheap singles holidays including Christmas will be on sale from next week, so do check out our web site for full details and have a browse through to see what you would like to do.

Although holidays have been cancelled, our office team are still at the end of the phone or an email if you would like to discuss any future holidays. Our contact details can be found here.

As always please keep an eye on our website and chat room for any updates and details.

How to keep busy while social distancing

It is going to be a challenging couple of months ahead, with uncertainty and lifestyles changes for all of us. So here at FT we would like to share some ideas of how to keep busy and adapt to a more social distancing lifestyle, and maybe create a new daily routine.

If you like to spend time in your garden when the weather is nice, many garden centres and online shopping outlets will deliver to your home – just check online for your local area.

The National Trust are opening their gardens and parks for free so we can explore the countryside to relax and refresh in the open air (while remembering to follow Government guidance on social distancing). So, it’s worth checking out where is accessible to you.

For a new daily exercise routine, or relaxation techniques you will find free videos on YouTube by fitness instructors, or if you have a local fitness centre, most are now doing online videos. You can even do fitness routines from your armchair.

Ever thought of doing an online course to learn a new skill or try out new crafts? There are free online courses in abundance, or why not start to learn a new language in time for your next holiday?

If you want to explore the world from the comfort of your home, look for virtual tours online. You can discover destinations you haven’t visited, virtual tours of museums, and if you want to see right into space then go onto NASA’s government website where they have given free access to over 140,000 photos, as well as videos and live feeds at certain times. If you prefer to watch animals, then lots of zoos have live webcams.

If you enjoy a good boxset or more variety for your TV, check out the different companies offering great deals for subscriptions, such as Netflix, Amazon etc. Some even offer 30 day free trials so check out their websites for details.

Of course, we can still phone and speak to family and friends as well as video calls, and our office team are there if you want to chat, or if we can assist you with anything please don’t hesitate to call. Also, if you have any other ideas of how to keep busy, please feel free to share those with others on our chat room.

Please take care of yourself and we wish you well.
