The Tour of Turkey started on Sunday 26th April and the first two stages have seen Mark Cavendish take victory in both races.

The Tour of Turkey has begun and Mark Cavendish is participating in itAfter winning the first stage, which saw riders cycle 144.8 kilometres and complete two laps around Alanya, Cavendish also took the honours in the second stage after sprinting to victory in Antalya in the southern Mediterranean region of the country to remain as overall leader of the tour.

The third stage of the tour takes place later today and will see riders cycle on a 165.3 kilometre route from Kemer to Elmali.

The tour has already seen large crowds turn out for the event and organisers are expecting holidaymakers on singles holidays in Turkey and locals alike to continue to come and support riders throughout the eight-stage tour.
