Wherever you spent New Year’s Eve as a Single Traveller – I hope you enjoyed the celebrations.
I’m Mel the Friendship Travel Overseas Manager – I was with our guests at 4* Donnington Valley Hotel , where everyone was dressed to impress. Men in Black Tie & Dinner Jackets and ladies in dresses and sparkles.
We started the evening off with a champagne reception and Canapes, where guests mixed and mingled and met new friends. Dinner was served in a private room where we were wined and dined with 4 courses. Crackers were popping and party packs explored ready to use for later in the evening. It was a lively night with plenty of chatter and laughing and all guests taking the time to get to know each other.
It was then time for the fun to really begin! We started the entertainment off with a live band along with other hotel guests. The dance floor was filled in no time and everyone was enjoying the music and dancing. The band wasn’t the only music though, the hotel also had a DJ playing in another suite at the hotel so we all got to enjoy the best of both and dance the night away.
Just before midnight the New Year celebrations started with the countdown to 2018, party poppers popping and streamers flying and then of course the customary Auld Lang Syne, with the fun continuing for those wishing to party some more.
Having aching feet at the end of the evening was a sure sign of a great night!
New Year’s day was more relaxed with a late breakfast, then a chance to either enjoy some Golf, take a gentle stroll into the little village of Donnington, or for those wishing to explore further and maybe indulge in some shopping then it was onto Newbury town centre.
However for those who wanted the ultimate in relaxation a visit to the Hotel’s Spa & Pool was the best option.
The next solos holiday party at Donnington Valley Hotel is our Valentines Black Tie Dinner Dance on the 10th February. So if you like the sound of having a relaxing afternoon in the hotel or spa, dressing up for the evening to be wined and dined, and then dancing the night away, this is a perfect weekend for you!
