Holidays to the moon and underwater cities could be possible in 100 years

SmartThings Future Living Report predicts that personal flying drones could eliminate the need to pack for your holiday by transporting your whole home to your chosen destination, along with other numerous space age predictions for the next 100 years.

Scientists also believe that holidays for one to the moon and other planets are all likely to be a reality by 2116 based on current technological advances around the world.

Along with these futuristic predictions comes the idea of underwater cities built to 25 storeys high within ‘transparent bubbles.’

The report, authored by British space scientist Dr Maggie Aderin-Pocock along with futurist architects and lecturers from the University of Westminster, was commissioned by Samsung’s SmartThings app.

Speaking to The Telegraph, Dr Aderin-Pocock explained: “Over the next century we will witness further seismic shifts in the way we live and interact with our surroundings.

“Just 10 years ago, technology like SmartThings would have been inconceivable, yet today developments like this let us monitor, control and secure our living spaces with the touch of a smartphone.”
