Hundreds of Brits are trying to book flights to the mythical island of Themyscira from the new DC superhero film Wonder Woman.

Wonder Woman

Wonder Woman has been a big success around the world, and many are finding great allure in the title character’s all female island of Themyscira.

Such is the appeal of the paradisiacal location that brits are attempting to book flights to the island in their hundreds according to Kiwi.com. The only issue being that Themyscira is entirely fictional, and was actually filmed on the Amalfi Coast in Southern Italy.

While Wonder Woman’s actual birthplace isn’t a viable holiday for singles abroad, there are many wonderful real life movie locations that one can jet off too.

Gladiator

Gladiator has many memorable locations, one of them being the African town of Ait Ben Haddou in Morocco, the location where the film’s main character was sold into slavery.

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

If westerns are your thing then book a singles holiday to Spain and visit Tabernas Desert in Andalucia, where the classic Clint Eastwood film The Good, The Bad and The Ugly was filmed.

Mamma Mia!

For the musically inclined and ABBA lovers out there, a trip to Skiathos in Greece will be a tempting destination filled with the sun, sea, and sand pictured in the movie.

The Godfather Part II

While the crime family of the classic Godfather films hail from the town of Corleone in Sicily, the scenes from Part II were actually filmed in the more picturesque towns of Savoca and Forza d’Argro.
