With its range of incredible beaches and sublime sunshine, Majorca has long been a premier holiday resort for people looking for the perfect summer holiday. In news earlier this week, its sandy stretches have been further praised, with five beaches awarded the coveted Blue Flag status.
The Blue Flag system is a great way to rate beaches across the world, put under a number stringent tests and parameters such as cleanliness and clean modern services. The annual scheme recognised a number of beaches around the capital Palma, with the beaches of Playa de Palma, Cala Estancia, Cuidad Jardin, Can Pere Antoni and Calamajor all awarded the status.
It is the third year in a row that five stretches have obtained the accolade, helping to further cement its status as a leading beach holiday destination.
