The news highlights the reluctance of UK travellers to avert their eyes from the screen of their mobile phone, with four in ten saying that having access to social media platforms is very important during their trips abroad.

The study also highlighted the amount of people who chose not to travel without their mobile phones, with 36 per cent of all questioned stating that they wouldn’t like to jet off abroad without it. However, the UK actually ranks just 13th when compared to attitudes in other countries towards mobile phones. Thailand tops the chart, with 85 per cent of all asked saying they wouldn’t holiday without their phone.
