There is a new set of earphones that are able to translate up to 40 different languages in real time, straight to your ear.
The world is about to get just a little bit easier to navigate, as a new travelling companion is set to change the future of tourism.
The Dash Pro is a wireless pair of earphones from Bragi that use intelligent audio technology to allow those visiting foreign lands to understand the native tongue of the locations they are visiting.
In conjunction with the iTranslate app, the device will enable you to understand the other person in your conversation with the use of your phone or a second pair of earphones – allowing them to understand you as well.
Singles on holiday can use the earphones and app’s translation/speech recognition software to translate their conversations in real time. If two people are using the Dash Pro earphones they can converse as any other person would. If however you are the only one using the earbuds, you can simply hand your phone over to the other person and the app will translate what you’ve said to them.
This could be a real game changer for those travelling abroad and for those who really want to immerse themselves in the culture around them. No longer will tourists have to point at objects or rely on a helpful English speaker. If the tech catches on, holidaymakers will be able to converse with the locals right away without the use of a clumsy phrasebook.
