New NCL ship names Miami as its home port The Norwegian Cruise Line have announced their latest cruise liner, the Norwegian Getaway, is to be based in Miami. The vessel joins a number of liners from the fleet sailing from the American metropolis, its sister ship the Norwegian Breakaway and the Epic, the largest in the flotilla.

It’s set to become the largest ship to port in the city when it arrives in 2014, inviting as many as 4,000 passengers to embark on a holiday of a lifetime. The inaugural itineraries for the ship are expected to be announced later this year, with the vessel expected to transport over 450,000 passengers every year.

Measuring at over 144,000 gross tons offering a range of sumptuous cabin spaces for a variety of budgets, the ship is as impressive as it is vast.

With the Epic cruise ship already offering incredible singles holidays opportunities from the city, the port could yet see another of its impressive fleet follow suit.
