Despite it being the first time for 64 years that the country has hosted them, a survey has shown that 1 in 5 people are planning to go on holiday during the London Olympics.
It had been believed that the Olympics would encourage many to stay at home this summer, but the report shows that this may not be the case.
Out of 2000 people asked, 19% confirmed they are planning a holiday between July 27th and August 12th. However, many of these are looking to find a cheap holiday, as nearly half said they are yet to book.
It is thought that the distraction of the Olympic Games could hamper UK travel agents, with prices being cut to spur on bookings. This is the situation many people are looking to take advantage of. Those who are not hanging around for deals are booking singles holidays now during the biggest sporting event to visit England this century.
