To be completely truthful, Simon Cowell was spotted by us, Andrea and Julie – Friendship Travel’s managers on Rhodes – on Monday, from our singles holidays base in Lindos, while he was relaxing on his yacht in St Paul’s Bay! Simon Cowell wasn’t actually on our singles holiday – but next time he fancies a break and his mates are too busy to join him, he’ll be very welcome!
We waved at him frantically, went into a quick dance routine, and are hoping for an audition slot for next year’s Britain’s Got Talent…
While we wait, we’re improving our tans. As The Sun might say, Phew, what a scorcher! The temperatures on Rhodes have been in the high 30s for weeks on end, and all the Hosts are golden brown. (Not because they’re lying by the pool, Colum, but because they’re out and about working hard all day, honest!)
Thankfully, the pool at Caesars Gardens in Lindos usually has a gentle flow of fresh air around it, which stops our guests from melting completely! One or two even manage to stagger across to the bar for an ice-cold Mythos (the local beer), or a cocktail, at some point during the afternoon.
And just to prove that sometimes guests do get a bit more active, here is a photo from our Latino-themed night in Yannis Bar on Monday night, when we tried out some new Zumba routines, and quenched our thirsts with far too many sangrias!
