Ski season beginning in northern hemisphere Fans of ski and snowboard holidays are beginning to take to the slopes as the 2012/2013 ski season is in its early stages of opening. Bloggers have been taking to the blogosphere to rave about the early ski conditions.

Tignes opened a couple of weeks ago and one blogger, Rob Rees, took to his online blog to tell the world about the great skiing conditions that can already be found there. On his first day of skiing, he described the conditions on the Grand Motte glacier as “spectacularly good”. Good snow makes the best skiing or snowboarding solo holidays.

The weather was changeable, however, and his second day on the slopes at Tignes was cut short by high winds and snow. It is always a good idea to prepare for these kinds of weather conditions, but the very beginning of the winter 2012/2013 ski season is the most changeable; booking for later on in the year is likely to produce better conditions.
