Sydney has made its mark as a haven for foodies after being voted one of the top gastronomic destinations in the world.
The list was compiled for UK consumer group Which? by a panel of food critics and travel writers. The Australian city came 3rd on the list after Tokyo in Japan and San Sebastian in Spain, placing it above some of the most famous food destinations across the globe, including Paris and New York.
Which? said that they wanted to find out which cities in the world were the best for food as the quality of food and dining experience can make all the difference between a good and a bad holiday.
Sydney was praised for its Mediterranean and Asian influences as well as its beautiful setting. These things combined make Australia a wonderful place to visit on holiday, and Sydney in particular for those that fancy trying world class food.
Australia is a fantastic destination for singles holidays, adding great food to the list of reasons to go, including its fabulous beaches, superb weather and fascinating culture.
