Albufeira in the Algarve has been named the most popular European holiday destination amongst Brits in a new poll.

This is backed up by a new poll by TripAdvisor that looked into the top 10 favourite holiday destinations amongst Brits.

The poll said that London was the most popular city for Brits to go on holiday to, followed by New York, but the city of Albufeira in the Algarve was third in the list and took the crown as the most popular European destination amongst Brits.

An article on the Mirror revealed that fourth in the list was Benidorm, whilst Barcelona, Orlando, Rome, Paris, Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt and the Dutch capital Amsterdam rounded off the top 10.

The poll also revealed that Benidorm is the cheapest destination overall for Brits to visit.
