Tourism initiative to attract increased visitor numbers in 2013International travellers who boast an Irish connection are being encouraged to visit next year as part of a tourism initiative to help lift Ireland out of the recession.

It is hoped plans to engage with the Irish diaspora, which were announced at The Gathering in Dublin Castle yesterday, will bring in an extra 325,000 tourists to Ireland next year.

Organisers behind the proposal claimed it will ‘benefit everyone’ and said in a statement: ‘It will contribute to restoring Ireland’s image as a welcoming country where visitors will receive the 100,000 welcomes that the people of Ireland are renowned for.’

A huge advantage for the Irish tourism sector is the pull its capital has over international travellers, with a host of traditional events and festivals taking place in the city all year round.

Why not check it out whilst on your singles holidays this holiday season, the perfect destination for an authentic Irish experience?
