An article in the Independent newspaper by respected travel writer Andrew Eames has praised the popular Spanish island of Lanzarote for its ongoing transformation into a quality holiday destination.
Sometimes regarded in the past as little more than a mecca for sun seeking tourists looking for a cheap getaway, Eames’s article – called ‘Grotty no more: How Lanzarote upgraded its appeal’ focuses on the various ways in which the easternmost of the Canary Islands has recently become a highly desirable place to visit for discerning travellers.
Described by the author as ‘like nowhere else I know’ and ‘with a great capacity for reinventing itself’, Lanzarote is revered in the article for its incredible landscapes, striking interior design and the friendly welcome extended to its guests.
With its beautiful scenery and increasingly relaxed atmosphere, Lanzarote is now building a reputation as one of the best places in Europe to take solo holidays.
