In the first three months of 2014, Turkey has seen the number of foreign visitors rise by 3.24 per cent compared to the same period in 2013. Turkey reports rise in tourism in 2014

Data from Turkey’s Ministry of Tourism and Culture showed that there were 4.35 million foreign visitors at the beginning of 2014, with not only families holidaying in the country, but also people on singles holidays too.

The report also showed that Turkey received nearly half a million more foreign holidaymakers in March compared to February. In total, the country received 1.35 million holidaymakers in March this year – making it a record month.

Turkey has now established itself as one of the world’s premier holiday destinations as the study from Turkey’s Ministry of Tourism and Culture also highlighted that the number of foreign visitors reached 34.9 million in the whole of 2013, which is an increase of 10 percent on 2012.

Holidaymakers came from all over the world at the beginning of 2014, with thousands of holidaymakers being British, although the largest increase surprisingly came from Ukrainian and Russian visitors.
