NEW TO FRIENDSHIP TRAVEL – We are delighted to offer the luxurious Chalet Saskia in Vaujany, Alpe D’Huez, France. Our friendly ski weeks include group lessons from European Ski School ADH – LDA on five mornings of the week, making this perfect for Intermediates and advanced. These lessons really are excellent in offering tips on how to improve your skiing and having an instructor guide you on the slopes. After ski school, we meet for lunch (own expense) and the afternoon is free for you to put your new skills into practice; there is always someone around to ski with.
As well as assisting at the chalet, your Friendship Travel Host can get you organised with lift pass, ski school and any equipment you need to hire and is a mine of information about the best spot for lunch or the quieter pistes for afternoon skiing. Your Host sleeps out, but is at your disposal on 5 1/2 days of the week. Ski hire packs start at €145 and do not need to be booked in advance.
Our board basis is ‘almost’ all-inclusive. Breakfast is buffet style and will include bread, cereals, yoghurts, patisseries, one hot egg option plus freshly made barista coffee. A Champagne afternoon tea with freshly baked cake, tea and coffee will be waiting for you when you get back from the slopes and then you can relax until dinner time. Dinner will be 4 courses with an open bar from 7pm until dessert is served (drinks included are local beer, quality wine, champagne, vodka, gin and soft drinks served by the glass).
The host will have one and a half well deserved days off each week, this gives an opportunity for you to try local restaurants and our in resort team will be more than happy to book a table somewhere for you. On the hosts full day off breakfast and afternoon tea will be left for you.

Chalet Saskia
We have teamed up with Ski Peak UK who have worked in Vaujany for over 30 years, to bring our guests an amazing catered chalet experience. Chalet Saskia is a luxury offering set in the picture-postcard location on the south facing, sun drenched slopes of Vaujany with a smart, stylish interior. Exclusive to Friendship Travel.
The 10 ensuite rooms all have balconies and are a mix of doubles and twins priced for single occupancy, but with the flexibility to offer some twin-share accommodation. The maximum number of guests each week will be 14.
The chalet has, in addition, a welcoming lounge with open fire, a games room, hot tub, sauna and every evening we all come together round one large table for meals. A bonus is free WiFi so you can update your social media pages with snowy pictures!
We have also included 5 x 2 hour private, small group lessons and you can choose from 3 levels – beginner, intermediate or advanced. These are great way to improve your skiing and the instructor will guide you around the slopes.
Standard adult, 6 day lift pass is €310 and can be pre-booked with Friendship Travel.
Equipment rental and storage at the base of the slopes, adjacent to the ski school, can be booked here at an extremely competive price.
Your Room
All of the bedrooms are tastefully decorated with double or twin beds. The bathrooms vary in size with complimentary White Company toiletries.
There is also the option to share a twin room if you wish – saving up to £350 per person.
How does a ‘Twin Share’ room work?
We offer a room as a Twin Share basis to increase the total number of guests in the Chalet and also to offer some reduced prices spaces for guests to join. The room is allocated to one sex or the other, depending who books first, they are all non smoking (as is all the chalet), and both guests have their own space and storage in the room. On a ski holiday you spend very little time in your room, therefore a Twin Share option is a great way to save money – use the saving to pay for your lift pass.

Location
Vaujany is just different! Part of the sunniest resort in the French Alps with more than 300 days of glorious blue skies a year, and perched on a beautifully scenic slope in a corner of the Alpe d’Huez ski area. The village of Vaujany is a hidden gem in the big purpose-built resorts of the French Alps. From the nursey slopes of Montfrais and Alpette, to the more challenging terrain of the Pic Blanc glacier, this resort will suit all abilities.
Ski Peak has been the only tour operator to service this charming village for nearly 3 decades. Chalet Saskia is perfectly located, just a 2 minute walk to the main Vaujany Alpette cable car lift and the excellent Apres ski is also a short stroll away. On the hosts 2 nights off, when no dinner is included, there is a variety of restaurants on offer and the host will book one of these for the group. Recomendations from last year’s guests are – QG Bar, La Table del la Fare and Ida’s Bar.
