Donnington Valley & Co. (formerly the Donnington Valley Hotel & Spa) – easy to reach, impossible to forget, and an absolute favourite of ours! We are so thrilled to be back here for Christmas 2026. Refreshed with small changes since we last held events here in 2020.

Donnington Valley & Co Hotel & Spa has been beautifully refreshed in recent years, creating an elegant and contemporary setting while still retaining all of its classic charm.
Food and drink are a true highlight at Donnington Valley & Co, with menus that showcase delicious modern cuisine, seasonal favourites, and exceptional service throughout your stay. We know our guests will love the traditional and contemporary dishes included as part of our arrangements.
The hotel’s superb spa facilities offer the perfect way to relax and unwind. The Spa includes an 18‑metre lap pool, steam room, sauna, aromatherapy relaxation areas, monsoon showers, a peaceful poolside lounge, and a large, air‑conditioned gym with state‑of‑the‑art equipment. During our break, all spa facilities will be available at designated times. The spa also features a range of premium treatments using top brands such as ESPA, Clarins, and Jessica, ensuring a truly indulgent experience.
For golf enthusiasts, the hotel’s scenic 18‑hole golf course winds around the Clubhouse and rolling parkland, offering a challenging and enjoyable round. Bring your clubs for the Friendship challenge — a 9‑hole tournament organised by the Pro on Christmas Eve — or enjoy a round on Boxing Day (extra charges apply locally).
During your Christmas stay in Newbury Friendship Travel guests have the exclusive use of the Cromwell suite and private bar throughout, giving us our own exclusive area and space to enjoy.

The Classic Double Rooms at offer a stylish and comfortable retreat, blending timeless elegance with modern touches. Each room is thoughtfully appointed with plush bedding, contemporary furnishings, and spacious en‑suite bathrooms. Upgrade to a spacious double room featuring a mini fridge, walk-in shower, and separate bath for an additional £50 per night, or choose a suite with more space, a walk-in shower, bath, and mini fridge for an extra £95 per night.

Itinerary
Christmas Eve
- Arrive from 3pm: Tea, coffee and mince pies on arrival in the Cromwell Suite.
- The Spa and indoor pool is available from 3pm onwards – we recommend pre booking treatments.
- Enjoy carols from a local choir in the afternoon from 4pm (approx).
- Tonight’s meal is a three-course set dinner, served to the table with half a bottle of wine per person in the comfort of the private Cromwell Suite
- After dinner, head to the dance floor and let loose to the sounds of our DJ and disco for a fun-filled evening.
Christmas Day
- Start your day with a relaxed breakfast in the restaurant.
- Morning Walk – Join your host for a scenic walk to Donnington Castle OR enjpy a swim in the hotel pool & sauna area.
- A singer will be performing in the hotel reception from midday to create a festive atmosphere.
- Enjoy a three-course festive lunch ( Choose from a 2 – 2 -2 ,menu in advance) with half a bottle of house wine per person, served in the private Cromwell Suite. We will sit at 2pm for food served at 2.30pm.
- Finish the day with a buffet supper, then unwind and chat with friends in the bar in the Cromwell Suite.
Boxing Day
- Start the day with a hearty breakfast to fuel you for the adventures ahead.
- Relax in the hotel’s amazing spa and enjoy its facilities, or explore the local area and make new friends.
- A Three-course set meal with half a bottle of house wine per person, served in the private Cromwell Suite.
- Join us this evening for a lighthearted and fun game of Bingo to end the day on a high note.
27 December
- Breakfast and then depart at your leisure.
- Access to Spa & Health Club facilities until 11am
