Fuerteventura, Canary Islands

The second-largest of the Canaries, Fuerteventura boasts the best beaches and a kaleidoscope of colours thanks to its ancient volcanic activity. 100km off the northern coast of Africa it benefits from year round warmth. The H10 Ocean Dunas is located in the north of Fuerteventura, a fishing town that has been able to combine its seafaring tradition with high-quality tourist development. UNESCO declared the whole island a Biosphere Reserve a few years ago.

The weather conditions of Fuerteventura are very similar to Florida and Mexico which are on the same latitude, which make this island the ideal holiday location.

Our hotel is in Corralejo, a popular resort with an old fishing village at its heart and a fabulous beach where the reliable breeze is a magnet for watersports enthusiasts as well as sun-worshippers. Stretching for 10kms south are the breezy dunes, a protected natural park where further development is prohibited. An island tour will reveal desert-like plains, mountain peaks or palm-fringed oasis, depending where you go. Make sure you don’t miss a boat trip to Isla de Lobos!
