When Friendship Travel first discovered Pefkos over 20 years ago, it was a quiet coastal village with just a handful of hotels. While it has since grown into a popular and welcoming resort, it has retained the relaxed atmosphere, beautiful sandy beaches and authentic charm that first captured our hearts. Whether you prefer to settle into a comfortable spot with your latest book, unwind by the pool with a refreshing drink, or enjoy a leisurely stroll to the nearby beach, Pefkos offers the perfect environment to relax, switch off and immerse yourself in a week of reading and good company. The crystal-clear waters and laid-back pace of life make it easy to escape the everyday and enjoy some well-deserved time for yourself.

From Pefkos you can take a local bus or taxi to Lindos resort and also Rhodes Old Town, both great areas to explore on your holiday.

In the evenings, we’ll gather over dinner to socialise and share thoughtful discussions. Our Book Club meeting will focus on Into the Blue by Robert Goddard — Set partly in Rhodes, Robert Goddard’s Into the Blue is a gripping mystery following former RAF pilot Harry Barnett as he becomes entangled in a web of secrets, deception and unexpected danger.

In addition to our Book Club dinners, we’ll enjoy a special “A Book I Love” evening, where each guest can share a personal favourite — inspiring lively conversation and new literary discoveries.

Books in Places creates exceptional reading retreats and literary escapes for book lovers, offering opportunities to connect with fellow readers and travellers who share your passions. Most guests join us solo, and single occupancy is the standard. However, twin rooms are available for those who prefer to share the experience with a friend or partner.

Your trip organiser is Paul Wright, or one of his experienced team – With over six years of experience running large book clubs in Bristol and Exeter, Paul has cultivated a deep understanding of what makes a great gathering. Since 2023, he has organised Books in Places trips, blending his love of literature and travel. the focus for the trip is on creating relaxed and sociable experiences where like-minded people can connect over books they love.

Nestled in a tranquil and peaceful corner of Pefkos, the 4 * Pefkos Village Resort is just a short stroll from a stunning sandy bay, making it the perfect destination for a relaxing and unique holiday. Recently renovated and designed in traditional Greek style, the resort is within walking distance of the town centre and only 5 km from Lindos.

The resort boasts its own daily snack bar, and as evening falls, you can unwind with cocktails in a sophisticated atmosphere. Dine at our on-site tavern, Filoxenia, where we offer an extensive à la carte menu featuring authentic homemade Greek cuisine that is both delicious and unbeatable.

Complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout the resort, including guest rooms and public areas.

TOURIST TAX – €5 per night paid directly to the hotel.

The standard bedrooms were refurbished in 2025 and feature a fridge, hairdryer and kettle. The bathrooms are fitted with a walk-in shower and toiletries are supplied. Each room has a private balcony or terrace, complete with a table and chairs, perfect for relaxing outdoors. These rooms are located on the 1st floor.

Upgrades available to a one-bedroom apartment at an extra £24 per night.
