This will be an exceptional trip and reading retreat for book lovers, providing a chance to connect with fellow readers and travellers who share your passions. The trip will be lead by Paul Wright, our reading holiday guide.
Your trip organiser and host is Paul Wright, or one of his experienced team – With over six years of experience running large book clubs in Bristol and Exeter, Paul has cultivated a deep understanding of what makes a great gathering. Since 2023, he has organised Books in Places trips, blending his love of literature and travel. the focus for the trip is on creating relaxed and sociable experiences where like-minded people can connect over books they love.
During this holiday, the featured book will be The Blind Man of Seville by Robert Wilson. A dark and gripping crime thriller set in Spain, it follows Detective Javier Falcón as he uncovers buried secrets and confronts his own past. The novel’s atmospheric depiction of Seville and its intricate plot will be the focus of our book club discussion. Robert Wilson is the acclaimed British author of several best-selling crime novels, celebrated for his masterful storytelling and psychological depth.

The Royal Alcázar of Seville – a magnificent palace complex known for its stunning blend of Mudéjar, Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque architecture. Originally a Moorish fort, it’s now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visitors are captivated by its ornate interiors, lush gardens, and centuries of royal history.
Seville Cathedral – one of the largest Gothic cathedrals in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Built on the site of a former mosque, it features the iconic Giralda bell tower, lavish altars, and Christopher Columbus’s tomb. Its grandeur and history make it a must-visit landmark in Seville.
The Seville Hop-On Hop-Off Bus Tour – a flexible and convenient way to explore the city’s top attractions. With 14 strategically located stops, passengers can disembark to visit landmarks at their own pace and rejoin the tour at their convenience. The tour provides informative audio commentary in multiple languages, enhancing the sightseeing experience.
Seville Reading Retreat
Our base will be the H10 Corregidor Boutique Hotel which offers a blend of traditional Andalusian charm and modern comforts. Guests can relax in the serene Andalusian courtyard or enjoy the rooftop terrace featuring a plunge pool and sun loungers. The hotel provides a breakfast buffet served in the courtyard, a lobby bar offering snacks and cocktails, and a coffee shop.
Our package includes breakfast everday and 3 dinners with a half bottle of wine per person. 2 dinners will be at the nearby sister hotel, H10 Casa de la Plata (just a 10 minute walk), and the 3rd will be a traditional Spanish Paella and Sangria experience. On the other nights we will eat out in nearby local restaurants (at own expense).
